Scenic View Community Development has built many houses in Alton Park area in the City of Chattanooga in it conception in the past 15 years and is now joining forces with The Mission Consortium of Churches International to work on a national level to combat the plight of poverty and homelessness. MCCI and Scenic View are commission by Lord and had been given a mandate to be fulfilled. That mandate is to feed the hungry, to cloth the naked, to visit those that are in prison, to give water to those that are thirsty, and to give shelter to those that are without a home that is the Mission and Mandate of the Church today.
Mission Consortium of Churches International and Scenic View Community Development Corporation have Partner together to revitalize the Inner-city of the City of Chattanooga and Hamilton County. Base on this collaboration between MCCI and Scenic View Community Development a Vision Statement was developed.
- To create an environment providing a safe place to live, to work and play.
- To provide skill vocational training programs to young men and women that is without work offering them a Certified Apprenticeship Program form the Tennessee Department of Labor and also finding ways to work with our “High Risk Children.”
- To develop affordable quality housing in a variety of styles to meet the needs of the residents in the City of Chattanooga.
- To develop supportive services such as health care, quality educational systems, recreational centers , religious outlets, and other social services to enhance the live style and culture of the City and community at-large.
Our Goals and Strategies are designed to give the City/County government and the resident’s opportunity to work together to accomplish their objectives. As the City of Chattanooga, move from industry to tourism making the community a better place to live, work and play. Mission Consortium of International and Scenic View will continue to collaborate together to see how best to serve the City and its residents. Our goals are to create an environment that will give a sense of security and safety to our children, seniors and adults. So that they may have a place where they may rejuvenate, refresh, and renew themselves which adds to a better quality of life. MCCI and Scenic View will the canvas the communities to find vacant lots and encourage residents, city official and potential homeowners to collaborate together to build homes and businesses on them so that we can have a better city in which to live work and play.
