Presiding Bishop

Dr. Mark H. Sandilands Sr. was born in Nassau (N.P) Bahamas he is the son of the late Charles and Doris Sandilands. Dr. Sandilands received his early education in the Roman Catholic Schools of Bahamas. In 1976 he was converted and accepted Christ as his Savior. December 20, 1978 he was Called to the Gospel Ministry Licensed and Ordained in the Church of God in Christ. By the Presiding Bishop: Bishop George Burns and the Council of Bishops in Nassau (N.P.) Bahamas. He graduated from American Baptist Theological Seminary in May of 1987. He was licensed at Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church, in Chattanooga, TN. by Pastor Harold K. Lester. November 20 TH 1988 he was ordained at Mission Baptist Church in Nassau (N.P.) Bahamas, by his Pastor the Rev. Dr. R.E. Cooper, Jr.

Education

August 1983, enrolled as student at American Baptist College. On May 4TH, 1987 he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from American Baptist College Nashville, TN.
1987 through 1988 he attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, pursuing a Master’s Degree in Psychology and Guidance Counseling. 1991 through 1992, he attended Tennessee Temple University pursuing a Master’s Degree in Divinity.

August 11th 1995 he received his Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counseling Covington College, FT. Oglethorpe, Georgia. August 6TH, 1999, he received his Doctoral Degree in Christian Counseling from Covington Theological Seminary, in FT. Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Ministry
He is the former pastor of Disciple Church of God In Christ, Nassau (N.P) Bahamas, where he served for three years as pastor and First Assistant to the Presiding Bishop: George Burns. Dr. Sandilands is also the former pastor of the Greater Saint John Missionary Church, Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he served for thirteen years as pastor. He is presently the pastor of Power of Touch Church, Chattanooga, Tennessee, for the ten years.

Civic Activities
His community service includes Global Ambassador of the Mission Baptist Consortium
Of Churches, the founder of Power of Touch Ministries, he is one of the founding members of the Mission Baptist of Consortium Churches Inc., In the Nassau Bahamas and Continental USA. A recipient of the Best Practice Award June, 2000, of the City of Chattanooga, TN. for outstanding community service and outreach to families in need of Housing and Job Training. Dr. Sandilands is the founder and president of Scenic View Community Development Corporation, a (501) (C.) (3.) Not-For-Profit Organization. And the Managing Director of a Certified Apprenticeship Training Program with the United States Department of Labor sense October 30, 2000.

He is’ the former President/Basilus of Lumbda Mu Chapter Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and Notary Public At Large, in the State of Tennessee. He is’ the founder and Presiding Bishop, of the Mission Consortium of Churches International Inc., a Charitable Organization that focused on Missions and Christian Fellowship that are establishing churches throughout the World. Dr. Mark Hilton Sandilands is also a former curriculum writer for the Sunday School Publishing Board, National Baptist convention, USA, Inc., Nashville, TN., the Advance Bible Study Quarterly for three years 2000 through 2002. He is’ a coordinated/facilitated of the MCCI Market Place, an Affordable Health Care Insurance Program in the United States of America that had been developed to give accessed to Health Care, to all American Families and others who may qualify. He is happily married to his wife Carolyn T. Sandilands and he is the father of seven children.
